To test this, make sure you've clicked inside the presentation. It's a little tedious, but it is possible for some published files. This application can be used on almost all operating systems including Windows, Linux/Unix, and Mac OS X. However, I did find out that some published files, particularly in Flash do allow users to tab through the options in the player. This will make a link to it on the desktop. I believe you can go into the Start Menu and simply click and hold on the app with the left mouse button and drag it to your desktop.
